I'm 18 and only now have my driving permit. I could have gotten it two years ago but I didn't have a big need. For one thing, if I ever needed to go to town I'd go with my grandma and we'd do all of our errands together. Then I moved to the smallest town in PA. I'm not sure if that's completely true, but it feels like it. Again, there was no need to drive. I can walk to the grocery store, library, rite-aid, dollar store, and even the school. The school's football field is directly across the street from my apartment. I have no need to drive anywhere.
Walking saves gas, which saves resources. My advice for the day is to walk when you can. If it's impossible to walk to a friend's house, walmart, or some place like that try car-pooling with friends or family who need to go to the same place.
